Katie Stelling first came to Oregon State as an undergraduate to participate in the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program through the National Science Foundation, where they met their current advisor, Maureen Walczak.
Katie is now back at OSU as a graduate fellow and first-year Ph.D. student investigating environmental conditions from 20,000 years ago., funded through the NSF–GRFP (Graduate Research Fellowship Program). Katie is also seeking a Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching.
The NSF-GRFP is a highly competitive federal program funding students to receive advanced degrees. NSF-GRFP students can apply to the universities of their choice, and we are honored that Katie has joined OSU!
Katie's passion for understanding Earth's past and its impact on our present and future motivates them to make a difference.
