Dr. Tevis will share insights about her time in graduate studies including strategies for success, cultivating grit, and the importance of building relationships. Dr. Tevis is an Associate Professor of Adult and Higher Education in the College of Education. She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Theory and Policy Studies from The Pennsylvania State University. Tenisha's work informs how administrators and faculty can better support historically disenfranchised students and transform the communities in which they serve.

Rachel Palmer, Assistant Director of Career Development in the College of Science, will lead this informative workshop.

New International Graduate Student Orientation

This is a mandatory session for all new international graduate students. During this session, the Office of International Services (OIS) will explain the important F1/J1 immigration regulations, review the immigration documents together and discuss the services provided by the Office of International Services.

2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Sponsored Student Orientation

A mandatory session only for sponsored students. Learn about your sponsorship requirements and the services from the OIS-sponsored student programs team.

Who is a Sponsored Student?

A student with a scholarship from an outside organization, usually a home government, embassy, or company. A Third-Party Billing agreement is established between OSU and the sponsoring agency. Sponsors provide their grantees with a financial guarantee letter specifying what educational costs they will cover. OSU invoices sponsors directly for these costs.
