OSU’s Center for Teaching and Learning presents: Quality Teaching @ Oregon State University
Wednesday, September 20, 2023, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Location: Learing Innovation Center (LINC) Lobby — Map
Whether you’re supporting a recitation, leading a lab section, grading for a large lecture, designing and teaching your own course, or hoping to teach someday, this orientation will focus on unique needs and challenges international students might face while teaching in the U.S. classroom.
All international graduate students are welcome, especially those who will have a teaching position during the 2023-2024 academic year. Those who do not have a position, or who are unsure if they will, are also welcome to attend to gain skills for future teaching activities.
All international GTAs are highly encouraged to come. Some academic units require attendance. Please check with your program if you are unsure whether your attendance is required. Students who attend this session will also attend the all-student teaching orientation in the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Please be sure to register for both sessions.
For more information or disability accommodations, contact Jeanna Towns ([email protected]) by August 15. Do not miss out on door prizes and Center for Teaching and Learning swag.

Topics such as classroom management and educational technology will also be discussed, and break-out panel presentations will answer your burning teaching or faculty related questions to help get you launched!
New teaching and research graduate students, and new faculty are welcome. Those with or without a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) position, as well as international students (who may have attended the morning session) are encouraged to attend.
