Public Policy Analysis (CERT)

Description

The Graduate Certificate in Public Policy Analysis is an 18-credit multi-disciplinary program offered both on campus and online through OSU Extended Campus by the School of Public Policy.

Rooted in sociology, economics, political science, and public policy, students will gain valuable interdisciplinary insights into complex challenges involving policy decisions.

The coursework includes a mix of theoretical and practical subjects including policy analysis frameworks, research methods, economic analysis, and decision-making processes. The primary aim is to equip students with the analytical skills necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of public policies, understand the socio-economic impacts of these policies, and propose evidence-based improvements.

Graduates can pursue roles in government agencies, think tanks, NGOs, research organizations, and private sector companies that work closely with government or public policy. Typical roles include policy analyst, research associate, program evaluator, or consultant.

The certificate is also stackable with OSU’s Master of Public Policy, Executive Master of Public Policy, and Ph.D. in Public Policy degrees with admission to those programs.
