Laptop Loan Program for Graduate Student Research

Laptops are available on a first-come, first-served basis to currently-enrolled graduate students. Laptops can be loaned for up to two weeks, with a one-time, two-week renewal option.

Statistics Consulting Service

The Statistics Student Consulting Service offered through the Department of Statistics, provides free statistical advice on University-related research projects. Any currently enrolled graduate student or faculty member at the university may request assistance.

ID card and online accounts

On campus, the ID card is used for meal plans, Orange Cash (save 10% on food purchases), copy card, getting into the gym and more. Off campus, many businesses give discounts to students with an ID card. OSU Network Identification (ONID) is a universal computer account available to all OSU students. Your ONID username and password gives you access to university technology services, the wireless network, ResNet, IS computer labs, and the Interlibrary Loan. 

Presentation rooms and studios

Student Multimedia Services provides access to presentation rooms, a photo/video production studio, DIY Media studios, and multimedia workstations in the Valley Library. These spaces can be reserved for academic projects, research and teaching and learning applications.

The Graduate Student Commons also has small group meeting rooms, long-term research rooms, and a presentation classroom available to reserve.

Poster printing

You can print a poster for free through Student Multimedia Services (SMS). 

Student Multimedia Services (SMS) is a student-initiated multimedia unit available for use by all currently enrolled OSU students and faculty. Their primary mission is to provide multimedia facilities, equipment, and technical support for students and faculty producing and presenting academic work.

Institutional Review Board (IRB)

The IRB staff offer in-office assistance through scheduled appointments and drop-in hours. Staff members look forward to providing the following services in person or via video conference for researchers not located on the Corvallis campus:

Exempt determinations: Review of documents submitted for potential exemption

Oversight determination: Determinations of whether a project requires IRB review

Faculty advising: Pre-submission advising, assistance with changes to approved protocols, and responses to stipulation notices

Meeting Rooms for Students

Need a place for a meeting? The Graduate School can help. The Graduate Student Commons that you can reserve for your next committee meeting, get-together, club meet up, etc. 

Writing Feedback

How do you deal with writing feedback? What are the best ways for soliciting it from your major professor? Invited speaker Hugh Kearns, ThinkWell and Flinders University, provides an overview of writing feedback and how to get the most from it. 

Media Hub

The Media Hub provides free printing, free poster printing, equipment rental (computers, cameras), presentation rooms and more.
