Site-based (Corvallis) GCCUT Program

Current OSU graduate students and those who intend to complete the certificate as a standalone option are eligible to apply. Prospective OSU graduate students who intend to pursue the GCCUT in conjunction with a master's or doctoral degree must wait until after they have begun the first term of their primary degree before applying. All core classes associated with the site-based version of the program are offered at OSU's Corvallis campus. Application materials will vary depending on your status, as described below. Please note that admission to the site-based program is for the fall term only. Applications to the site-based program for the Fall term will open in January and are accepted on a rolling basis until late August.

E-Campus (Online) GCCUT Program

Eligibility requirements to apply to the online version of the GCCUT program are the same as the site-based program, and we accept applications on a rolling basis.  However, the required introductory course GRAD 560 is only offered in Winter term. Students who wish to begin the GCCUT program during another term will only be able to take elective courses until they complete GRAD 560.  For additional information about the online GCCUT please follow this link: http://ecampus.oregonstate.edu/online-degrees/graduate/college-university-teaching/.

How to Apply

Current OSU graduate students who intend to pursue the certificate in conjunction with a graduate degree

To apply to the GCCUT, you must electronically submit:

  1. Certificate Request Form (also known as a Change of Major/Degree Request Form). Click Change of Degree/Major/Certificate Form. You’ll then be prompted to log in with your ONID credentials and complete the form. Under Work on Concurrent Degree/Certificate, select Certificate and College and University Teaching. Your Change of Degree/Major Request Form will not be processed unless you are admitted to the GCCUT program.
  2. The GCCUT Supplemental Application with accompanying documents.

The accompanying documents include: (1) CV/résumé, and (2) cover letter.  Additional requirements for these materials are described within the Supplemental Application.

Prospective OSU students who intend to pursue the certificate as a standalone experience

To apply to the GCCUT, you must electronically submit:

1. An online application for graduate admission to OSU specifying your desire to pursue the GCCUT.  This application will prompt you to submit your  (1) CV/résumé, and (2) cover letter.  You will not need to submit them again in the GCCUT Supplemental Application.  If there issue with the online application for the graduate school accepting these documents please notify Jessica Beck ([email protected]).

Opportunities to take non-major GCCUT courses

And, if you are interested in taking courses related to college and university teaching, we offer several that are open to any and all graduate students. Please refer to course listings under the GRAD designator for courses that may be offered with open enrollment.
