OSU faculty and staff will welcome you to the university and the New GTA Orientation, provide an overview of the day’s events, and discuss the importance of international GTAs to the campus community.

Getting to know the U.S. educational setting
Teaching in an intercultural setting, especially at a new university, can be both exhilarating and difficult. This session will provide participants with an overview of United States higher education and culture, as well as an opportunity to identify intercultural differences between the US-American educational environment and other educational settings around the world.

GTA panel
Facilitated by Jessica Beck, Rachael Weber, and Linda Tucker Serniak
Experienced international instructors will answer questions about teaching in the United States and at Oregon State University. In addition to preselected questions, the audience will have an opportunity to submit questions in writing via notecards before the panel session begins.
