Scientists are often called upon for “other” tasks – to guide development of new policy for agencies, draft business plans for start-up companies, manage non-profit organizations, and serve in administrative roles as they advance in their careers. The skills needed to succeed in these endeavors are often lacking; most of us focused our educational training and research in a specific scientific discipline.

This program was developed for scientists and professionals working in science-related fields, like veterinary medicine or environmental education. Some of the topics covered include accounting and finance, project management, marketing, research ethics, and communication. You’ll be writing your own business plan in the Innovation Management course spring term!

Through this training, you’ll acquire the skills and knowledge needed for both personal development and career advancement. You can complete the program on campus or online. Take two courses per term starting in the fall and graduate spring term, or take your time and enroll for just one class each term.
