Communications is a very broad topic, but in this case we are focusing on methods of outreach beyond how to write. We have a professional development section on writing you can check out. In the spring, the Graduate School sponsors our version of the 3 minute thesis competition we call Scholars' Insights. We hope you participate or attend our next Scholars' Insights.

Three-Minute Thesis Competition 3MT

The OSU Graduate School hosts a university-wide presentation competition based on the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) research competition, developed by The University of Queensland. The competition is designed to challenge graduate students to advance a compelling presentation on their thesis, dissertation, or project topic, and its significance in just three minutes. 3MT develops academic, presentation, and research communication skills and supports the development of graduate students' capacity to effectively explain their research in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

Travel Grants

Graduate student travel to conferences is essential for the professional development of our students. The University also benefits by being represented at such events. The travel funds from this program are designed to provide graduate students with financial support to cover part of the cost of attending and presenting their scholarly achievements at prestigious conferences and venues.
