Application Fee Waiver Incentive

We recognize the hard work and achievements you have accomplished in your undergraduate degree. The Graduate School wants to celebrate these successes by waiving the graduate application fee for participants of McNair, MARC U-STAR, LSAMP, Gates Millennium, GEM Fellowship, Ford Family Foundation Scholars, RISE and TRIO SSS, and SACNAS conference attendees. If you participated in a program not listed, you may be eligible for our financial need waiver.

Public Health, DVM, and PharmD Applicants

Several Oregon State professional programs like the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), PharmD, and some programs in the College of Health require applicants to complete an application outside of the Graduate School application system. The Graduate School cannot provide waivers for these external applications. Learn more about fee waivers/fee reductions on the DVM, PharmD, Public Health affiliated application websites. The Graduate School can provide fee waivers for the supplemental questions portion of the College of Public Health and Human Sciences application that is completed through the Graduate School application.

Graduate Award Incentives

The Graduate School offers 20+ awards for graduate students every year. Your program may have financial awards as well. Many of the awards require your department to nominate you. Application Fee Waiver Incentive

We recognize the hard work and achievements that scholar participants have accomplished in their undergraduate degree. If you are a supervisor for a similar program not listed and would like your students to be considered for a waiver, please email [email protected]. You can also see if your students are eligible for our financial need waiver.

To receive the scholar program application fee waiver, applicants must start their graduate school application, but not yet submit it. Applicants will complete the online request form, which includes sharing the name and email contact of their scholar program supervisor (you). You will receive an email from the Oregon State University Graduate School requesting confirmation of participation for the student. Please reply to the email with an electronic letter, electronic participation confirmation form, or an email reply confirming the student’s participation. Once we receive confirmation, the applicant will be granted the waiver.

Looking for a way to connect your students to the Graduate School without travel? Consider a virtual workshop. All workshops (except Oregon State University Overview) speak in general terms to be pertinent to students considering multiple universities.

Campus Visit

Are you planning to take your scholar participants on a tour of university campuses? We would love to host you! Past visits have included a campus tour, a presentation, and conversations with current graduate students, usually lasting around three hours. If you have a time crunch, we are happy to adjust the schedule and shorten it to your desired length. Visiting groups are responsible for their own transportation and lodging.

We also have a free online virtual tour of our Corvallis campus. On the virtual tour website, students do not need to fill out the information on the form. They can bypass it by clicking the “X” at the top of the box.
