Graduate students from across OSU are coming together to showcase their scholarship, research, creativity, and to have some fun. Be part of the event and showcase your work!

The Three Minute Thesis competition starts right after the showcase, 5:15-7 p.m. Stick around and cheer on the 3MT finalists. 

Details

The graduate showcase is a chance to highlight your work to the wider university community and practice your presentation skills. The format is primarily as a poster, but other formats are accepted including a display or performance. Tables and electrical power can be made available. Items in the showcase will be entered into the judging competition. See below for the judging criteria. 

The maximum size for posters is 42" tall x 48" wide. This OSU template is available for free. You can print your poster for free by contacting Student Media Services at the Valley Library. 

Dates and Schedule

March 16, 3-4 p.m. Information session. Learn more.

April 12. Extended to April 16. Registration deadline.

May 4, 3-4 p.m. Poster or exhibit set-up at LaSells Stewart Center.

May 4, 4-5 p.m. Showcase and judging begins. 

May 4, 7 p.m. Winners announced on stage at the end of the 3MT competition.

Judging criteria

Poster are judged on a five-point scale in the following categories:

  • Communication – The author talks about their work in a comfortable, professional and engaging manner.
  • Scholarly merit – The poster is well organized and effectively supports the research argument or objective. Conclusions are logical and based on results. The author attempts to tie findings into a larger discipline or society. 
  • Visual – The display is visually engaging, attractive, and easy to read.

Displays and performance pieces are judged separately from the posters.
